The NAF was founded by Late Brigadier Gyan Singh, former Principal, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, UP and leader of India’s first Expedition to Mt Everest in 1960.
NAF is a well-knit family with its Headquarters at New Delhi and Twenty Nine Chapters covering the whole country with an array of outdoor programs primarily focused on Youth Development.
